Who we are

We run businesses too. We build what we’d use ourselves.

We’re two partners, not an agency. One of us runs several businesses, including a restaurant, so we know what a missed call or a late invoice really costs. You talk to us from the first call to the handoff, and we do the work.

Based in Maryland. We work with businesses across Maryland and DC, on site or remotely.

Why we started

Why we started this

The short version: leave every business we work with better off than we found it.

We’re operators first, not tool resellers. One of us owns and runs a restaurant, with the payroll, ordering, scheduling and customer calls that come with it.

So we know how the week goes. The phone rings in the middle of the lunch rush. Invoices wait until Sunday night. Stock gets counted when someone remembers, and the order goes in short.

Some of those problems are worth automating. Many aren’t. Sometimes the fix is a setting in software you already pay for, one shared calendar instead of three, or a clear rule for who calls back and when. The fix that pays off best is rarely the most impressive one.

We kept watching owners we know lose their evenings to the same admin, while the software sold to them was built for companies ten times their size.

We started this firm to do that work for other owners. Here’s what it means for you.

We build what we’d use ourselves. If we wouldn’t run it in a business of our own, we won’t sell it to you.

We’ll tell you when it isn’t worth it. Sometimes the right answer is a simple fix, a tool you already pay for, or no AI at all. We’d rather say that on the first call than sell you a build you don’t need.

You see the price first, and you own the result. Every build gets a written, fixed-scope quote before work starts. Your accounts and data are always yours, the code is yours when you own the build, and support is month-to-month.

Our goal is plain. Leave every business we work with better off than we found it.

We’re new, and we don’t have client results to show you yet. So we show you what we can: the businesses we run, what we’ve built for them, our prices and the rules we work by. Judge us on those.

The partners

Who you’ll work with

Two partners. One of us takes your first call, and we stay with you through the build and the handoff. No sales team in between.

Co-founder

Runs sales and client relationships: the first call, the proposal, and making sure what we build fits how your business works.

  • Business analytics at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business
  • Co-founder and portfolio manager of a student investment fund
  • Business analyst work with local businesses: market research, competitor reviews and recommendations to founders
  • Internships in quality assurance and nonprofit tax

Eric is usually the first person you talk to. He’ll ask how your week actually runs, where the hours go, and what you’ve already tried, before anything gets built.

His background is business analysis and finance: researching markets, sizing up competitors and turning numbers into a plan an owner can act on. At Jetsy Growth he scopes each project, writes the proposal, and checks back after launch that the system is saving the time we said it would.

Leads engineering: designs, builds and looks after the systems we set up for you.

  • AI engineering contractor
  • Lead engineer on a mobile marketplace app that takes real card, Apple Pay and tap-to-pay payments
  • Machine learning research: text recognition and image classification on mobile devices
  • IT support and web development

Justin builds what we sell. He has led the engineering on an app that handles real money for store owners and their customers, so he designs for the things that go wrong: a payment that fails halfway, a phone that drops off the network, a login that shouldn’t see someone else’s data.

Before that he did machine learning research, teaching phones to read text and recognize food in photos, and he now works as an AI engineering contractor. At Jetsy Growth he designs each system, builds and tests it, and stays on to keep it running.

What we run

A business we run

We build what we’d use ourselves. We run several businesses, including this restaurant.

Restaurant

Run by one of our partners

Revenue has grown since our partner took ownership.

What we do there: Run it, and built its website.

What we commit to

What we commit to

All nine. Hold us to them.

  • You own what we build

Your accounts, phone numbers and data are always yours. The code becomes yours when you own the build: pay for it up front, or buy out a managed plan at the price written in your proposal. Our reusable templates stay ours, and you get a permanent, free license to use them. Third-party software stays under its vendor’s terms.

  • No lock-in to us

Support is month-to-month, and a managed plan’s buyout price is written in your proposal. Everything is documented so anyone can maintain it. We flag any vendor contract longer than month-to-month before you sign.

  • We’ll tell you when automation isn’t worth it

Sometimes the better answer is a setting in a tool you already pay for, a change to how the work gets done, or doing nothing. When that’s the case, we say so.

  • Tools you already pay for come first

We start with the software you already have before suggesting anything new. We take no referral fees or commissions from software vendors.

  • Price in writing before any build

You see the price in writing before any build starts. Changes you ask for are quoted before we do them.

  • Running costs disclosed up front

Every proposal estimates the software and usage fees you’ll pay to keep things running.

  • The AI follows rules you approve

The AI only says and does what you’ve approved in writing: scripts, booking rules, and what it may quote. It never moves money or makes commitments outside those rules. Anything else goes to a person on your team.

  • Least access to your data

We use the least access that works, and every vendor that will process your data is listed in the proposal. Vendor training on your data is turned off wherever the vendor allows it. Our access is removed at handoff, or when you end support.

  • We fix what we built

If something doesn’t work as described in the agreed scope, we fix it free for 30 days after launch. Vendor outages or changes, edits by your team, and new requests are covered by support or quoted.
